Privacy at Plainmark
Plainmark processes one PDF to produce Markdown and local assets. Files are treated as sensitive content, kept private, and handled through a short-lived anonymous task.
How the current service handles data
01
Content processed
Processing can include the source PDF, generated Markdown, extracted images, the result ZIP, and minimal task metadata needed to operate and secure the service.
02
External document processing
Conversion requires sending the PDF to an external document-processing API configured for the service. Do not upload a file unless you are allowed to share it for this purpose.
03
Private temporary storage
Source and result objects use private storage. They enter cleanup after delivery, failure, cancellation, timeout, or expiry. A one-day object lifecycle is retained only as a deletion fallback.
04
Anonymous task session
First-party task and client identifiers support current-task recovery, access control, rate limits, and cost protection. They do not provide cross-device history.
05
Logs and product use
Plainmark does not intentionally place PDF contents, generated Markdown, complete filenames, object URLs, or task secrets in application logs or analytics, and does not use document contents for advertising or product training.
06
Public page analytics
When GA4 is configured, the public site sends only page paths without query parameters, page titles, and basic browser measurement data. Analytics storage is enabled by default on public pages, so GA4 may set first-party analytics cookies. Advertising and personalization storage remain denied. Filenames, task IDs, document content, and conversion results are not sent to GA4.
07
External policy boundary
An external processor may apply its own retention and data-use terms. Those terms are separate from Plainmark's server-side cleanup and should be reviewed before uploading sensitive material.
08
Your data rights
You may ask Plainmark what account data or task metadata we hold, request correction where applicable, request deletion, or ask to close your account. Email support@plainmark.net with the request; we will verify ownership, explain any data retained for legal or security reasons, and respond within 30 days. Conversion files and results are temporary and are normally deleted automatically after the task ends.
